Daewoong Pharmaceutical is actively expanding patent applications and registrations in various countries to secure intellectual property rights for new drugs and strengthen its competitiveness in the global market. The global expansion of new drugs inevitably entails overseas patent applications and registrations, and since patents can exercise exclusive rights only in the countries where they are registered, securing patents in multiple countries is the core of the intellectual property strategy. Through this strategy, Daewoong Pharmaceutical has applied for 847 overseas patents and completed 459 patent registrations over the past five years, further solidifying its position in the global market.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s patent protection efforts are also being further strengthened through the employee invention compensation system. The employee invention compensation system, which began in 2012, plays an important role in encouraging inventors and enhancing corporate competitiveness through innovative achievements.
